As of November 2023, the post office and back half of Central square was demolished, as approved by Birmingham City Council, in association with Godwin Developments to make way for new housing. Further plans are expected in 2024.

The Hairy Lemon (The Old Roebuck) has stood since 1967 and was a live music venue. It has become notorious with anti-social behaviour and after lying derelict for many years, has now become an extension of Specsavers.

The pub stood on this site since 1760 and was originally called The Bulls Head. The Roebuck Inn was demolished in 1965.
